Importing Glass From Iran
In the global glass market, quality and innovation are essential.
Iranian producers in this market pay special attention to new technologies to commercialize and development activities in the global market.
According to the report of the special headquarters for the development of nanotechnology, the number of destination countries for the export of nanoglasses and mirrors produced by Iranian companies reached 35 in 2017; Among these, we can mention countries such as Brazil, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Spain, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, etc.
One of the things that has been able to increase the competitiveness of Iranian manufacturers in this industry and enable them to produce high-quality glass is the acquisition of the technology of using multipurpose heat absorption and storage coatings, which is currently in 15 places in Iran.
It is produced commercialized and exported to different countries in the four continents of Africa, Europe, North and South America, and Asia.
Among the other reasons for the increase in the export of glass and mirrors in Iran to other countries, we can point out the lower production costs compared to other countries, especially Europe, which has ultimately led to a lower cost of the products in the world market.

Production Steps:
The production process of this industry includes four stages:
Preparation of raw materials: In the first step, the raw materials needed to produce the final product are combined with specific weight ratios. Some of the raw materials are: silica, limestone, and sodium carbonate.
Melting and refining: Melting of materials is done in furnaces with specific dimensions, depending on the amount and type of glass produced. Refining is a combination of chemical and physical processes that are carried out in the melting chambers, during which all the bubbles created during the mixing of the molten glass are removed, and it becomes an equal-weight mixture.
Forming products: The forming stage in glass production mainly includes two processes: hot forming and cold forming. In hot forming, the glass is placed at a high temperature and turns into the final shape. Then, in cold forming, it is gradually cooled and strengthened. These processes are done using specific templates and tools.
Post-forming operation: It includes stress relief and product coating operations that take place before their packaging.
Glass industry in the world
This industry has always maintained its share of the world economy and its production is increasing. China has a 51% production share. After that, Europe accounts for 16%, and other regions of Asia (except India and China) account for 12% of the production. India has 2% of its production in the world. Iran has more than 0.5% of the world’s production, with about 2 million tons of glass per year.
Global Market Value of Glass
The global market value of this industry in 2020 is estimated at 228.7 billion dollars, of which 120 billion dollars was related to the production of flat glass. Flat glass, also known as sheet glass or plate glass, is mostly used to produce windows, doors, mirrors, and solar panels.
This industry is constantly developing and is expected to grow at around 5% annually. The global glass packaging industry market value surpassed $51.23 billion in 2020. Most beverages require bottle packaging due to the distinctive properties of glass, such as being non-reactive and recyclable.
Production costs
The cost of producing a glass unit has increased by 50% from 2004 to 2021 in Iran. The main reason for this increase was the growth of energy prices, transportation costs, and the supply of raw materials.
Production in Iran
In Iran, there are 14 large and active companies in the field of glass bottle production. Currently, without the addition of new construction plans, the capacity of these units is 641 thousand tons in total, and with the addition of new plans for these assemblies, we will reach about 1 million tons. Of course, other local plans in operation will bring the total capacity of Iran to about 1.5 million tons.
The conditions of Iran crystal export to Brazil and Argentina
The products produced by the following companies, which are among the largest manufacturers in Iran and are well-known names, are rarely and very rarely exported to countries located in South America. And this means an excellent market for making a profit if you can directly import to a country.
* Isfahan crystal
* Balor Kaveh
* Fresh optical crystal

Of course, we all know that Brazil is known as the country of coffee and the best and highest quality coffees are produced in this country and exported to the whole world. So, we can say that one of the hot drinks in this country is coffee.
Since coffees are prepared and served in different models, one of the best-selling products that can have high sales in this country after mugs without printed handles are types of half cups or coffees.
Specification of Tempered Glass
It has high resistance to heat and is safer; This type of glass does not break or crack due to temperature difference.
Although tempered glass is more resistant and durable than ordinary glass in terms of breaking, it is possible to break it. Tempered glass breaks into safe pieces when broken, which can be an advantage.
